The Journey Begins

Hi from northern Indiana!

I am Marguerite. I am married to my husband, JP for 19 years (some years longer than others). We have three teenage boys, Paul, John and Jake. In our home, we also have my parents, Granny and Poppy. They moved into our home May 2017. It has been a year and a half of unexpected experiences. No matter what it is a house full of love, Christ and forgiveness. Although it is not always full of patience.

I started this site to share my daily stories…three generations under one roof, need I say more? OK, Granny has Early Onset Alzheimer’s. The youngest is 13 and plays travel sports. My husband started a new company and working from his home office this year. Our oldest son just started his freshman year in college. Until 6 weeks ago, we had 2 other high school seniors living with us. Our middle son, is a high school sophomore student and a wrestler. Poppy plays bridge, golf, gardens and is loyal to the Knights of Columbus. I attempt to keep everyone organized, fed and happy. I almost forgot to mention one more addition, our golden retriever is laying at my feet, the same ones he bruised an hour ago with excitement when I returned from a daily trip to Sam’s Club.

I can almost guarantee a laugh as you read about our latest adventures in life at 1509. Some days I can offer suggestions and positive feedback regarding ideas and concepts we have tried to keep everyone sane and to manage Alzheimer’s as it impacts our household.

I hope to illustrate how our crazy household continues to roll with what God sends our way.

Thanks for joining me!

I am a daughter, a wife, a mom of three boys and a "mom" to boys from other mothers. I live for my family and work hard to set an example of a life in Christ. I have to remind myself that to enjoy the little things because the chaos can become overwhelming. I can't make up the things that happen in our world, so after much encouragement, I decided to write about them. Hopefully you will enjoy the stories and think, "Hmm, it's not just at my house!"
